London Packing List

London Packing List

Packing for London has its own special challenges. Bear in mind London is densely crowded and jammed with both tourists and locals. You’ll usually be walking in the rain, although the weather tends to change round the clock (that’s what it makes it so interesting). Expect to go from heated over crowded shops and bars into driving rain and then into public spaces with wet and slippery floors.

So consider bringing the following items.

Waterproof clothes e.g. padded waterproof coats, lightweight summer macs

London is quite safe but follow the usual precautions that you would in any busy capital city. Personally, I don’t carry around large sums of money, my passport, valuables or wear expensive jewellery. And I don’t speak to strangers in the street!

In the winter most people wear trousers/jeans and flat walking shoes and if they are going to a restaurant or the theatre they team this with evening tops and costume jewellery.

When creating your London packing list check the long term forecast before travelling.

Some things I carry in my bag

Credit cards, coins, lip salve, Oyster card, paracetamol, tissues, phone and charger, subscription and membership cards, hand cream and an umbrella.

I check the weather and night temperature every day before leaving the house and ensure that I am dressed accordingly.
